Built Around Real Financial Complexity

Most people Ryan works with aren’t starting from scratch—they’ve built meaningful assets and now face more complex decisions around taxes, retirement timing, and how everything fits together. It’s common to feel like each piece is handled separately, without a clear strategy tying it all together. Ryan works with clients who want a more coordinated approach, especially when the stakes are higher and mistakes become more costly. His role is to bring structure, clarity, and a long-term plan that makes each decision easier to understand and act on.

Who Ryan Works With

Ryan works with physicians, corporate executives, business owners, and families with $1M+ in investable assets who need someone to coordinate the full financial picture—investments, tax planning, Roth conversions, estate coordination, and retirement projections.

If your finances feel scattered and you want one person helping all the pieces work together in a clear, structured way, Ryan can help.

Experience That Brings a Different Level of Perspective

Prior to joining Highland Investment Advisors, Ryan spent over 20 years working within single-family offices, multi-family offices, and a private bank—bringing a level of coordination and long-term thinking typically reserved for ultra-wealthy families.

That experience now shapes how he works with clients today—delivering family office-caliber planning to individuals and families who want more than just investment management..

What Working With Ryan Looks Like

Financial planning often feels abstract until you can see how decisions play out over time. Ryan focuses on building clear, actionable strategies that connect each part of your financial life into one coordinated plan.

Here are some of the areas he helps clients navigate:

  • Roth Conversion Roadmaps
Plan conversions year-by-year to manage taxes while building long-term tax flexibility.
  • Retirement Income Guardrails
Create sustainable withdrawal strategies so you can spend confidently without second-guessing.
  • Tax-Aware Investing
Structure portfolios with tax impact in mind—not just returns—so more of what you earn stays with you.
  • Estate Plan Coordination
Align accounts, beneficiaries, and planning strategies so everything works as intended.
  • IRMAA Management
Help reduce unexpected Medicare premium increases through proactive income planning.
  • Asset Location Strategy
Place investments in the right accounts to improve tax efficiency over time.

Real Planning Situations Ryan Helps Solve

Every plan starts with a real situation—not a template. These examples reflect the types of challenges clients bring to Ryan:

  • A retiring physician couple needed clarity on how much they could spend, when to convert IRAs to Roth, and how to manage Medicare-related costs. Ryan built a year-by-year strategy that helped them retire with confidence and fewer unknowns.
  • A corporate executive with equity compensation wanted to reduce tax exposure while preparing for early retirement. Ryan coordinated investment strategy, tax timing, and income planning into one clear path forward.
